Shotage is the photoblog of Andy Newson. I started photoblogging early in 2004, with a site called SensorChip - I suppose I set that up to share my photos and not a lot else really. But my passion for image making just grew and grew and I decided to draw a line under the first site and set up this one, which I did in October of 2005. In the early days, I saw photoblogging as a tool to learn, but after a while, every Tom, Dick and Harry having an opinion on your images grew a little tiresome. Who cares how you would have cropped it!?! I was once told that the biggest thing that you will learn in photography, is that there are no rights or wrongs - and I believe this to be pretty much true. Photoblogging has been great in so many ways, but without it, I certainly wouldn't have made as many great friends as I have done. Some I've never met and some that I've been lucky enough to meet. I use this site as a base, I tend to put quite a of images here, sometimes just to give them time, see if I still like them in a couple of months. Then if so, they go in to the portfolio.
