Today we headed to the other side of the county, some 60 miles from home,
to Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve near Chichester.
Car fully loaded up with 2 large dogs, one 2 year old little girl, a wife and
a picnic for good measure. On the way down in looked like we were destined
for a good soaking as the rain wouldn't let up. But we were quite lucky and only
ended up with a few showers whilst walking round.
We decided to take the smaller Nature Trail walk and it was really nice, but
with a buggy it was really hard work, but worth it for the views. We met some
really nice people and I got some shots for the project, so all in all a successful day.
The nature reserve houses the largest yew forest in western Europe. The trees looked
really nice with rain on the bark. This image is a broken branch from one of the
ancient yew trees, and yes that really is the colour it was!
